Cards are dealt
You and the dealer are each dealt two cards. Both of your cards are face up; one of the dealer's cards remains face down.

sjb66 blackjack winning strategies
Knowing the right strategy can significantly improve your chances of success in blackjack. Here are some key tips.
Follow basic strategy
There is a mathematically optimal decision for every possible card combination. Following a basic strategy chart significantly reduces the chance of losing.
Understand soft hands
An Ace can be counted as 1 or 11. The risk of taking more cards on a soft hand is lower, so there are more opportunities to Double Down.
Split at the right time
Always split Aces and 8s. Never split 10s or 5s. Keeping this simple rule in mind will give you a big advantage.
Manage your bankroll
Set a fixed budget and stick to it. Never bet more in an attempt to recover money you've lost. Playing responsibly is the key to long-term enjoyment.
Avoid insurance bets
Taking insurance when the dealer shows an Ace is generally not profitable. In the long run this bet results in a loss most of the time.
Stay focused
Don't make decisions based on emotion. Treat each hand independently and always follow basic strategy.
